Job Description:

Job Purpose

The Material & Production Planner is responsible for ensuring material availability and developing effective production plans to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory, production capacity, and supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Material Planning & Inventory Management

  • Develop and update material plans for raw materials and packaging materials to ensure sufficient supply for production.
  • Monitor inventory levels and create/adjust Purchase Orders (POs) based on production requirements and latest stock conditions.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and relevant stakeholders to resolve supply issues, including material shortages and excess inventory.
  • Analyze inventory levels and provide recommendations to optimize stock levels, safety stock, and material availability.
  • Manage and drive initiatives to reduce Slow-moving and Obsolete Inventory (SLOB) for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on rework, scrapping, and disposal processes when required.
  • Conduct regular inventory analysis and forecasting based on demand and incoming stock.

2. Production Planning & Capacity Management

  • Develop and manage production plans across monthly, weekly, and daily planning horizons.
  • Conduct finite production and capacity planning based on factory capacity, production calendars, and business requirements.
  • Ensure production plans are aligned with available capacity and agreed service levels.
  • Release production orders to manufacturing sites and monitor production schedule adherence.
  • Identify potential capacity constraints and provide recommendations or alternative scenarios to minimize supply risks.
  • Analyze customer orders and sales demand to develop appropriate production plans.

3. Supply Planning & Cross-functional Coordination

  • Provide impact analysis and scenario planning to support business decisions and supply chain planning.
  • Coordinate closely with Production, Procurement, Sales, Logistics, Suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth supply operations.
  • Proactively arrange deliveries with suppliers to support urgent customer requirements.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), phase-in/phase-out (PIPO), and other supply chain improvement projects.
  • Provide updates and recommendations on raw material status, including MOQ optimization and potential material substitution.

4. Data Management & System Administration

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of planning and transactional data.
  • Create, maintain, and extend master data in SAP.
  • Maintain accurate planning records and support relevant supply chain reports.
  • Ensure proper data housekeeping and continuous improvement of planning processes.

5. Import & Documentation Support

  • Coordinate and support documentation requirements related to customs clearance.
  • Follow up with relevant internal teams and stakeholders to ensure imported materials are successfully delivered and received at the site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or other related fields.
  • Experience in Supply Planning, Material Planning, or Production Planning, preferably within FMCG, Paint/Coating, Manufacturing, or Retail industries.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in SAP and planning/reporting tools (e.g., BI).
  • Good understanding of material planning, inventory management, production planning, and supply chain processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
  • Proactive mindset with a strong desire for continuous improvement.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and effectively under pressure.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
